These Dwarves are mostly located far East of the Karak, in the Dark Lands. After joining up with armies from 3 other Karaks, the Chaos Dwarf army is easily routed and sent scurrying back Eastward. The city was beset by Chaos forces but had provisions to last for many months. The Dwarf army travelled around to the South of the city, hitting the Chaos army in the flank and taking them by suprise. At the sight of their Allies entering battle, the defending Elven forces charged from the city gates to add their might to the fray. The Chaos forces were routed and the Siege of Auril Toteni was ended.

-2225 - Due to much harassment in the form of many small raids against outlying Dwarf settlements and lookout posts, Lord Grungnir Brightgem marches forth again to join up with an Elven army. They had the goal of destroying or removing all Orcs and Goblins from the Western World's Edge Mountains and the low lands beyond. They managed to defeat one small Goblin army, but for the most part they found it difficult to find the small roving bands of greenskins with their entire armies in tow. Garrisons were increased throughout the Dwarf realms to help deter the raids.

-2005 - The Dwarves are very upset at the betrayal of their Elven allies. Over the past few years many Dwarves have fallen to the arrows and blades of Elven raiding parties; who attacked both trade and mining caravans and stole the goods.

-1997 - The War of Vengeance begins after the Elves commit the unspeakable act of shaving the beard of a Dwarf emmissary. The newly crowned King of the hold, Vali Gulinbursti raises a huge army and sends them forth to seek revenge on the pointy eared traitors. The army returns three decades later later with almost 70% casualties, but having conquered and razed nearly a dozen Elven settlements and cities.

-1763 - Another large army marches forth from Karak Einherjar, headed up by Gerik Nalstone. The army marches Northwest and defeats an Elven army at the Battle of Lichen Valley. The depleted Dwarf army is later ambushed by another army of Elves and is defeated. The Elf Lord Karil Iyutani slays the already weakened Dwarf Lord in combat. The scattered Dwarf army eventually returned to the hold to tell of the their defeat by the treacherous Elf tactics.

-1560 - A third great Dwarf army leaves the Karak to join up with a great host of Dwarf armies, who together march to the field of battle and issue a stunning defeat against the Elves at the Battle of Three Towers. The Elven Phoenix King is bested and killed in battle, and the Dwarves claim the Phoenix Crown as compensation for the wrongs the Elves have committed against them. All the Dwarves return to their respected holds under great celebration at having acheived the sought after vengeneance.

-1501 - The War of Vengeance is officially ended, with the Dwarves being the clear victors. The High Elves withdraw drom the Old World for a time. The population of Karak Einherjar has been severly diminished due to the casualties accumulated during the War which lasted almost 500 years. Rumors are heard of the founding of a great Elven capital being founded in the forests that lie far to the Southwest of the Karak.

-1500 - Great volcanic activity coupled with earthquakes struck the World's Edge Mountains. Many ancient tunnels and caves within the hold collapsed and many new underground passages were openned up. Many Dwarves died in the cave-ins, and some lower portions were flooded. Cleanup began in earnest to restore the hold to it's former glory, but work was difficult and slow going because numbers had been significantly reduced fighting against the deceitful Elves. Shortly after Goblin parties began to enter the lower portion of the hold. In a quick decision to prevent further infestation of the hold, the lower tombs that were still accessible were sealed with Runes and all access to the lower tunnels was bombed close. Further Goblin attacks were prevented after the access was sealed. The Goblin Wars begin.

-1399 - A medium sized Goblin force broke through a sealed tunnel and floods into the lower hold. The patrolling Iron Breakers manage to hold the lower reaches until the Warriors of the hold can converge on the location and fight off the attackers. The tunnels are resealed, this time far deeper than before. Many Dwarf Karaks and realms fall to the Orcs and Goblins around this period of time. The upper hold has been fully restored by this point, and heated talks of how to restore the lower portions are held amongst the Lords.

-1362 - Karak Einherjar gets many new Dwarf residents as holds in the Eastern World's Edge Mountains are abandonded so that the occupants may escape the overwhelming attacks of Orc and Goblin armies. The newcomers are welcomed and made to feel at home. Homes are given to them in exchange for the work they will do to help restore the hold to it's former glory.

-1250 - The Troll Wars begin as the Dwarven Nation seeks to rid their lands of the monsters. Being so far West, Karak Einherjar is able to accomplish this with only minimal losses, and lends aid to other Karaks who have a more serious troll problem.

-975 - Over the past few centuries many Dwarven lands are reclaimed from the greenskin hordes. Karak Einherjar has flourished despite many skirmishes beneath the mountain to reclaim the lower reaches of the hold. An army is raised to assist the Dwarf Empire in the retaking of Red Eye Mountain. Lord Munin Sifson heads it up and marches to meet up with the allied armies. The Dwarves are defeated by the Orc and Goblins in the great Battle of 1000 Woes, and Red Eye is not retaken.

-640 - A large Orc and Skaven force out of the West arrives in the realm and destroys many of the Dwarf settlements around the Karak. The Dwarves living outside the hold flee for the safety of the gates. Karak Einherjar is beseiged for two years, during which the Dwarves inside care little about the siege and go about their lives as there is no chance, even with the powerful shamans accompanying them, that the Orcs can crack the gates. The winter of -639 proved to be very harsh and caused severe casualties among the sieging army. In the late winter of -638 most of the remaining Orcs give up and wander away to seek an easier target. The Dwarves then sally forth and easily destroy the remnants of the horde. The reclamation of the land around the hold begins, and by summer the farmlands are restored and crops are growing nicely.

-500 - First contact is made between the hold and Humans in the Old World. A peaceful trade relationship is established. The Runesmiths warn of the ficklness of Human nature and are wary of future trouble.

-318 - Skaven attempt to invade the mines South of the hold where a rich vein of Gromril was recently discovered. A force of equal size of Dwarves is mustered and is successful in turning them back and killing their General at the Battle of Grey Dawn, which took place in a great cave along the mining tunnels.

-250 - There is much trade between Karak Einherjar as well as the rest of the Dwarf Empire, and Humans of what will one day be the Empire. Both sides prosper from their dealings. Rumors of an Elf civilation existing in the forests far to the Southwest of the hold are confirmed as a wandering party of Rangers from the hold is nearly wiped out while scouting for a possible greenskin presence. The Elves are described as different from the High Elves which had been encountered and fought in the past.

-140 - A huge army of Chaos Dwarves marches out of the Dark Lands to attempt to conquer a portion of the World's Edge Mountains. The Dwarf Nation calls all the Karaks to band together and lend an army to stop the invasion. Karak Einherjar contributes a good sized army to the overall force. The battle is a rough one as the Chaos Dwarves are not only accompanied by Orcs, Hobgoblins, and Goblins, but by a seemingly new breed of Orc, which is larger, tougher, and most dangerously of all smarter than the rest of their kind. The Dwarves do defeat the Chaos Dwarf forces, but losses are severe. Less than half of those who left for the battle return to the hold.

-1 - The Karak again sends forth an army to join Alliance forces to purge Black Fire Pass of greenskins. The army is made up of both Dwarves and Humans, and is led by the greatest of Human Generals Sigmar Heldenhammer. The greenskins are crushed in the battle and few escape the wrath of the Allied forces.

176 - There are many incursions into the Dwarf realms by Chaos warbands from the North. Karak Einherjar lends it's might to the Dwarven armies which are raised to stand in defense of their realms. The Karak's forces, led by Lord Vidar Snorrison sees battle twice, both times from well dug-in defenseive positions, and successfully holds their ground on both occasions.

500 - A new nation of Humans has formed with the joining of several city-states. The Karak leaders look West in hopes of finding a new ally, yet expecting a new enemy.

680 - A tragic landslide occurred and almost sealed the gates of Karak Einherjar closed. Workers exit through the secret, well-hidden mountain doors and march down to begin the work of clearing the gate. The clearing will not be complete for nearly three years. Bizarre noises and extreme vibrations in the stone are heard and felt in the deepest reaches of the hold. Iron Breaker patrols are stepped up and the warriors of the hold are told to keep ready for battle.

681 - A large Skaven force breaks through from under the hold. The ratmen army includes many huge and disformed rat-monsters of incredible strenth, as well as a huge number of slaves. The Dwarves are outnumbered no less than five to one as battles take place in the underground tunnels. The Karak prevails in the end after making use of traps of various kinds in the tunnels, as well as a new-fangled flame-throwing war machine which creates hideous casualties. The Iron Breakers and Warriors involved in the fray pursue the ratmen down the tunnels which they delved to attack the Karak from. Many Skaven are caught and killed, including the General of the invading force. The ratman tunnels are collapsed then sealed.

920 - Once again the Karak is well-known as a place of both runic and technical knowledge. The Engineer's Guild thrives, researching many new devices for bettering the lives of Dwarves as well as the way they wage war. The research of the Rune Smiths does not go unnoticed as well, in this year the future greatest Rune Smith that ever lived, Kragg the Grimm, visits the hold to gain as much knowledge as he can.

1032 - An army is raised and sent forth from the hold to assist in the retaking of Karak Azgul. The Karak is retaken from the Goblin hordes who infested it, however it was decided not to resettle under the mountain. Instead settlements are set up below the main gates. The army finally returns home with only minimal losses in early 1034.

1114 - Rumors of a great plague begin to arrive at the hold. The gates of the Karak are closed and no one is allowed in except for daily laborers who do not come into contact with outsiders. Some Dwarves of the outlying settlements get sick and some of those die when the Black Plague finally reaches the lands of Karak Einherjar. A great catastrophy it would have been had the illness swept below the mountain.

1666 - The last few centuries have been propsperous for the Karak. Several battles have been fought by Armies from the hold against various Orc and Goblin, and Skaven armies. Chaos attacks upon the Dwarf Empire have increased over the years, despite the many times that they were turned back. This year saw the defeat of a massive Skaven army led by Warlord Sneek Quikflee which had been crossing the World's Edge Mountains enroute for the Human lands beyond. Three combined Dwarf armies, one from Karak Einherjar, coupled with twice their number of Humans met the ratmen on the open field, defeated them, and scattered or killed the remnants of the army.

2031 - The dead walked within the realms of Karak Einherjar. Scouts reported an Undead force of immense size crossing into the lands. Regiments of unbreathing, unthinking Human skeletons and zombies took to the field among other undead beasts and ghosts. At their head was a powerful Vampire, capable of much destruction both physically and magically. Despite the fear in their hearts that reached right down to their very souls, the army sent to deal with them held their own and turned back the evil horde. Lord Woden Balji led the fight against them on that occasion and the several others when they returned seeking magical items from deep within the heart of the mountains.

2302 - The Great War Against Chaos is in full swing as Chaos forces attack the seat of the Dwarven Nation, Karaz-a-Karak. The capitol is beseiged and many Dwarven holds send forces to assist, including Karak Einherjar. The siege is broken and the Chaos forces retreat.

2420 - The greatest Goblin warlord to ever wage war against the Dwarves, Gromm the Paunch, rampages out of the East at the head of a massive horde. Karak Einherjar sends forth it's army, headed by Thur Wodennsohn, to the North to assist it's beleagered allies, but they arrive to late to be of assistance. The Dwarves involved in the fight had been defeated and the Goblin horde had passed on into the Human lands.

2472 - Again Thur Wodennsohn leads the army out to fight the Orc and Goblin menace. This time the Dwarven Nation is seeking to recapture and resettle the once great hold at Karak Eight Peaks. The Dwarves succeed in retaking the land, but do to the immense size of the city and the underground hold, the Dwarves who stay after the fight live in a permanent state of near siege.
